Not updated the site for a while, and there have been quite a few weddings lately which I need to post up, but thought I’d strike whilst the iron was hot on this one! I wouldn’t usually post up pics the day of the wedding, and would wait for pics from the bride to show as well, but just had to on this one.
I had a call from a lady early last week asking me if I could see her to talk about her wedding flowers – I asked when the wedding was and I was surprised to say the least when she replied “next Saturday”. We had the meeting, talked for an hour or so about options, and decided on a simple white and peach rose theme with hand-tied bouquets for the bride and bridesmaid, and rose buttonholes for the groom and witnesses. I just needed to match the peach rose with an offcut piece of dress that was being dropped round a few days later. Or at least I thought we had decided……
Fast forward to Saturday, I was working in the workroom preparing for a Wedding Fayre making a hand-tied bouquet from Cappuccino and Peach Roses when hubby mentioned “those peach roses don’t look a million miles from the shade you need for next weekend wedding”, so I made a note of the rose name and thought nothing more of it.
Monday evening came, and the bride to be came around after work, with a piece of material and a small bag of sequins and beads that were being used in her dress to incorporate into the design. I had got the bouquet ready from the wedding fayre the day before to match the peach rose, and the bride instantly changed her mind. “I want that bouquet – the design, the colour, everything”. The Cappuccino and peach roses were a perfect match to the dress material, so white and peach was no more.
The results are shown above – I made small loops from the dress embellishments and attached them to the rose centres, and used the dress material in between the roses, and for the handles and buttonhole trim. I delivered this morning, and when the Bride to be held the bouquet against the dress, we both started crying – I’ll post further pics up of the bride and flowers at a later date!

Colour Matched Bridal Bouquets and Flowers
Towards the beginning of this year, I had an enquiry from a bride who knew EXACTLY what she wanted – right down to the exact shade of flower she wanted. Normally, it makes things easy for me when the customer can tell me every detail of what they need, but on this occasion it caused more than a few sleepless nights. After visiting every local wholesaler, and scouring the net for an eternity I was at the point of giving up. We had agreed an exact bouquet, and the exact rose to use, but it wasn’t available in the colour required – unless we ordered 10,000+ in which case they would colour match them to the desired shade. As I only needed 50 or so in each colour, it seemed overkill to order 10,000 so I tasked hubby to find a solution. After much experimentation with various methods and products, two weeks later we had colour matched airbrushed roses that the bride was over the moon with, the below images show the finished article
As a result, we can now offer both fresh and artificial flowers in any colour – you let us know the RAL code, and leave the rest to me (well hubby).

Bridal Flower Mayhem
What a few weeks it’s been since my last update – things have been hectic, so this post is long overdue!
The wedding I had on at the end of May went very well, with the weather taking a change for the better for once just in time for the Bride. It was an especially busy day for me, as we had to deliver the Bridal Party Flowers, then go and set up Church Flowers and Pew Bows, go over to the venue to set up there, and then back to the Church in time for the end of the wedding to collect the Church Flowers. As an extra surprise for the bride we then rushed the church flowers over to the venue and set them up there before the guests (and newly married couple) arrived – she was expecting us to collect them and take them home with us, but it seemed a shame for her not to get the full days benefit from them. She messaged me afterwards saying how nice, and unexpected, it was to arrive to see the large Pedestal Arrangements pride of place on the stage, just behind the Top Table and in front of the disco. The full wedding pics have been uploaded onto the relevant pages, but here’s a taster of the days theme.
Yes, that’s me working!! A few days later, I received a surprise of my own with a Bride whose Wedding and Venue Flowers I did last year e-mailed me to tell me her wedding (and my flowers!) had been featured in an online editorial. To say I was thrilled to have been part of this, with a mention at the end, would be the understatement of the year – I was beaming for days afterwards. This week has been a little quieter and more down to Earth so have been busy with artificial flower orders, although I did make my first loose Nan sympathy frame, with matching loose heart for a customer that came to me after I was recommended to them by a regular client – it’s always nice knowing that people like my designs enough to suggest their family and friends use me
Hope you all have a good weekend – I’m off to make 50 foam rose buttonholes that need to be posted tonight, get ready for the Summer Fayre at the local primary school in Clayhanger and then spend the rest of the weekend in the sun I think!

New Florists Website for Walsall
If you are a new visitor to the site, welcome 🙂 If you have been here before, but not recently, you will hopefully notice that we have a new website! It’s taken some time, and it’s still not complete, but I think that the refresh was worth doing, with easier navigation and better pictures. On the subject of pictures, we still have a few hundred to add – that’s hubby’s job over the coming week – and a few extra galleries and features. We are both fairly new to this website building lark but we’re getting there and finding it to be a rewarding challenge, lets hope the results make the effort worthwhile.This weekend though my attention is elsewhere with a wedding booked for Saturday, where the bride is having a two colour rose bridal bouquet, matching bridesmaids, buttonholes and venue flowers. We also have to deliver pedestal arrangements to the church and fit pew end bows, so all in all it’s going to be a busy day. At least the weather forecast looks positive, with sun and temperatures in the low 20’s, so I may get out into the garden afterwards to get some planting done and catch a few rays.

Ready for Mothers Day …
Well, we are busy stocking up and getting all organised for Mothers day this year. We are doing hyacinth pots, mixed bouquets, flowers in vases, flowers in hessian handbags, flowers in t.cups so if you want something different just ask us.
We are also offering FREE local delivery actually on Mothers Day in and around Brownhills, Pelsall, Hammerwich and surrounding areas, or you can collect them direct from us the day before if you want to give them to her in the morning with a nice cup of tea when you wake her up after her lie in 🙂
